The Students' Association of Bow Valley College would like to welcome all of its members into 2022! With a new year comes new opportunities to learn, grow, and connect. SABVC is excited to dive into a few important things right off the bat this year. To name a few, we are continuing to tackle U-Pass discussions and look forward to sharing more with you on that matter soon. We have taken part in talks around campus supports amid the spread of the Omicron variant of COVID-19, and are working to ensure that members are not experiencing a gap in these services due to the current wave of the pandemic. Also, we have been preparing in the realm of governance and elections - an important aspect of student government that will allow SABVC to find the next group of motivated learners to lead our organization and advocacy into 2023.

There is a lot of excitement circulating for 2022, and SABVC is here for you as the journey unfolds. If you should need anything throughout the year, please feel free to contact us using the form on our website which can be found at www.sabvc.ca under "contact." You can also try finding the answer to your questions by chatting with fellow students via the SABVC Social App, now available in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. We wish you luck in the adventures that 2022 will bring your way, and thank you for being a part of the SABVC community.

- Austin Deck, SABVC Director of External Affairs

The Students' Association of Bow Valley College is located on the traditional territories of the Niitsitapi (Blackfoot Confederacy) and the people of the Treaty 7 region in Southern Alberta, which includes the Siksika, the Piikani, the Kainai, the Tsuut’ina and the Iyarhe Nakoda.

We are situated on land where the Bow River meets the Elbow River, and the traditional Blackfoot name of this place is “Mohkinstsis” which we now call the City of Calgary.

The City of Calgary is also home to Métis Nation of Alberta, Region 3.
