About the event

October 10th is World Mental Health Day, this year SABVC is partnering with students in MOAS1998 to check your vital signs! Did you know stress, anxiety, and poor mental health can have a huge impact on your vital signs? Poor mental health can affect your physical health in numerous ways including changes in blood pressure, heart rate, weight and more.

The theme for this year's World Mental Health Day is "Mental Health at Work". Some of the biggest triggers to declining mental health in the workplace are stress and anxiety, high levels of each of these can have adverse effects on your vital signs, which can lead to poor physical health. We will have mental health resources and information tables set up so attendees can learn all about the correlation between mental and physical health.

Students from MOAS1998 will be practicing their professional skills, and offering free vital sign…

The Students' Association of Bow Valley College is located on the traditional territories of the Niitsitapi (Blackfoot Confederacy) and the people of the Treaty 7 region in Southern Alberta, which includes the Siksika, the Piikani, the Kainai, the Tsuut’ina and the Iyarhe Nakoda.

We are situated on land where the Bow River meets the Elbow River, and the traditional Blackfoot name of this place is “Mohkinstsis” which we now call the City of Calgary.

The City of Calgary is also home to Métis Nation of Alberta, Region 3.
