Balancing the demands of school, personal life, and heavy course content can feel overwhelming, especially when the material challenges us to rethink what we thought we knew. We're learning new concepts, naming experiences we’ve felt but never had the language for, and facing truths that can't be unlearned, unheard, or unseen. This knowledge can be empowering, but also heavy—especially when we begin to see its impact on our past and present relationships, and the gaps within our systems.

That's why we’ve created this space: a social club for students who want connection, conversation, and community. A place where we can be real—about how school is going, how life is feeling, and how we’re processing what we’re learning. It's also a space to breathe and unwind together. Whether it’s over a coffee, a walk, or a game night, we hope to support each other not just as students, but as people who care about building a world where everyone feels heard, seen, valued, and empowered.

The Students' Association of Bow Valley College is located on the traditional territories of the Niitsitapi (Blackfoot Confederacy) and the people of the Treaty 7 region in Southern Alberta, which includes the Siksika, the Piikani, the Kainai, the Tsuut’ina and the Iyarhe Nakoda.

We are situated on land where the Bow River meets the Elbow River, and the traditional Blackfoot name of this place is “Mohkinstsis” which we now call the City of Calgary.

The City of Calgary is also home to Métis Nation of Alberta, Region 3.
